ACRI will exhibit at the Conference on Railway Excellence 2016 in Melbourne during May.  ACRI and the ACRI Rail Knowledge Bank will take centre stage at the “Knowledge Zone”, which will provide delegates with the opportunity to search world-wide databases and libraries that cover railway engineering and operations.

In addition to this display, ACRI researchers Dr Anjum Naweed and Dr Grégoire Larue will be presenting papers at the conference.

ACRI Principal Research Fellow, Dr Naweed will be presenting a paper on ‘Investigating the Interactions of Road Users and Pedestrians in a Dynamic Rail Level Crossing Environment’ and ACRI Research Fellow, Dr Larue will be presenting the paper ‘Driver Visual Performance at Passive Level Crossings with Long Sighting Distances’.

ACRI will also give papers on the topics ‘Model to Estimate Infrastructure Damage Costs for Different Train Types’ to be presented by Dwayne Nielsen, and ‘Theoretical Investigation of the Effect of Rail Cleaning by Wheels on Locomotive Tractive Effort’, and ‘Advanced Studies on Locomotive Dynamics Behaviour Utilising Co-Simulation between Multibody and Train Dynamics Packages’, which will be presented by Dr Maksym Spiryagin.

With the theme of ‘Maintaining the Momentum’, the conference program for CORE will cover a broad spectrum of industry developments, including such areas as:

  • Freight and passenger rail
  • Light rail
  • Heavy haul
  • Systems and operations
  • Safety
  • Policy
  • Projects
  • Simulation and modelling
  • Human factors
  • Economics

A non-commercial conference overseen by a voluntary organising committee of railway professionals, CORE has grown to be one of the most respected railway technical conferences available, and will offer only peer reviewed technical papers of the highest standard.
