Vicki Brown, Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of ACRI represented the organisation at the Light Rail conference during February in Melbourne.

The message given at the conference was that Australia is undergoing a “light rail renaissance”. New light rail projects are emerging throughout Australia.

With the capital of Canberra currently undertaking its own light rail construction, Australia is fast recognising the importance of light rail in bringing economic and environmental benefits to our cities. Nationally, the light rail network is anticipated to grow by a quarter over the next decade.1

Also attending the conference was ACRI’s Principal Research Fellow, Dr Anjum Naweed. Dr Naweed spoke on the topic ‘Beyond the Wall of Technology’, exploring the latest human factors developments in light rail.

This event was an opportunity to share knowledge and for collaboration between delegates involved in project management, manufacturing and operations.
