Since the December 2015 ACRI Newsletter, ACRI has delivered a further seven research reports. Now available are a total of eighteen research reports, accessible to ACRI Participants on the ACRI website.

Those complete include:

  • ‘Evaluation of a Level Crossing Enforcement System: Level Crossing Observational Study’
  • ‘Evaluation of a Level Crossing Enforcement System: Level Crossing User Behaviour Study’
  • ‘Vysionics VectorLX System Evaluation’
  • ‘Passive Solutions to Improve the Conspicuity of Tabletop Carriages at Railway Level Crossings at Night’
  • ‘Better Stimulus Control at Level Crossings’
  • ‘Slips, Trips and Falls on Trains and at Railway Stations – Phase 1’
  • ‘National Low-Cost Level Crossing Trial Program – Affordable Level Crossings’

In addition, as part of the Memorandum of Understanding between ACRI and the UK Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), a number of Level Crossing Safety reports previously only available to UK RSSB Members have now been shared with ACRI Participants. These reports can be accessed via the ACRI Participants’ Portal on the ACRI website.

Additional ACRI research is also underway, with new projects established or in development to look into the following areas:

  • The Impact of Waiting Time on Risk
  • Advanced Transport Model
  • Track Worker Safety

ACRI is open to new participation from transport organisations who may be interested in accessing a shared-IP model of funding research. In addition, ACRI offers Associate Membership for manufacturers, contractors and suppliers, to ensure that these important organisations are able to work more closely with the operators and governments who manage the wider transport networks.

In addition to undertaking projects on behalf of our Participants as part of the Agreed Work Programs, ACRI is also able to undertake projects for organisations on an individual basis. This can help to protect IP or simply enable organisations to access improved research rates through ACRI’s established contracts.

ACRI has the capacity to deliver further research and innovation so if there is an area that is of interest to you or your organisation, please contact ACRI’s Project Manager, Tristan Hogg, to discuss your requirements.
