ACRI’s Rail Knowledge Bank will very soon have its 4,000th entry.  It is an impressive and extremely useful resource for those interested in anything to do with rail transport.

It is not just another website promoting some organisation or other agenda.  It is an information-rich website covering every aspect of rail (and related wider transport) in Australia and New Zealand with additional material and links on international rail.

It is proving to be or enormous economic value to rail operators, suppliers and customers, managers, and transport economists, to name a few. Especially as access is free.

The Knowledge Bank is supported by the National Interest Services (NIS) program under which Federal, State and Territory road and transport agencies fund land transport information services in the national interest.  It continues to be overseen by an Advisory Group of experienced rail professionals, and chaired by the Executive Director of the ACRI.

ACRI and the ARRB Group Ltd are currently in discussions with the Rail Safety Standards Board UK (RSSB) on how to facilitate better access to the publically available material from the ACRI Rail Knowledge Bank and the RSSB – SPARK.

The Rail Knowledge Bank can be accessed through the ACRI website or directly through the Rail Knowledge Bank home page.
