ACRI has commenced vehicle simulation research through CQUniversity to produce conversions from chord-based to inertial track geometry levels.

Modern track recording cars usually utilise inertial based measurements. In Australia, only chord-based measurements are used by field and maintenance staff and the RISSB and ARTC standards only provide chord based defect levels. This ACRI research seeks to inform the immediate conversion need using vehicle simulation.

ACRI participants will receive the defect conversion levels for Australian heavy haul and freight rollingstock and track conditions following scheduled completion in mid 2020
