ACRI’s latest research report from the project LC17 Train Horn Investigation – Literature Review: ‘Investigating the use of train horns at rail level crossings’  is now accessible from the ACRI Participants-Only Portal under ACRI Level Crossing Safety Research, Tranche 1.

 

This research is reviewing the efficacy of train horn sounding to alert motorists, pedestrians and cyclists on approach to a variety of level crossing types, including passive and active controls in urban and rural locations. The literature review component offers a deeper understanding of train horn practices at level crossings in Australia and internationally.
