ACRI acknowledges and respects the privacy of individuals in the context of ACRI activities.
ACRI collects personal information such as contact details, in respect of:
- certain officers, employees of its Participant organisations;
- individual and corporate correspondents with ACRI; and
- various decision makers and opinion leaders, including parliamentarians, their advisers and journalists.
The information collected from Participant organisations is for the purpose of processing Participant applications, keeping individuals informed of upcoming events, assisting ACRI in improving its service to its Participants and advocacy work undertaken by ACRI.
The personal information in respect of decision-makers and opinion leaders is generally available to the public. ACRI assumes that the decision-makers and opinion leaders concerned have consented to this information being recorded and stored by ACRI.
ACRI also receives inquiries and requests for information from many individuals and organisations and these inquiries and requests necessarily result in the storage of personal information associated with those requests. The personal information provided by the inquiries is held for the purpose of that correspondence.
It is possible that some individuals whose personal information is held by ACRI will want it dealt with on an anonymous basis. Where it is practicable to do so, ACRI will respect such requirements.
ACRI will provide appropriate details of, amend or remove any personal information detailed above on request from individual or organisations.
